My husband and I had been home together for the last four days. We didn’t do much, just chores about the house and watched some TV. We only wanted to relax so Thursday and Friday was great, but Saturday we became a bit restless so we went out and saw a movie. On Sunday of that week, I decided it would be nice to get out of the house once again so I suggested we go to the beach. What happens when we pray for something and God doesn’t seem to respond? It’s an interesting question. Should we say that God is punishing us or He’s not listening to our heart’s desire? In reading Mark 11:24 (KJV), it says “What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them”. No convoluted message there. Hollow traditions and rituals have left a salty taste in the mouth of true
worshipers. This could be due to the institutional church’s landscape drastically changing in the last fifteen years. Believers are confused, dazed and even more fearful than ever. There are various reasons this climate of uncertainty exists. Everything from misappropriated church funds to improperly trained clergy leaders are a few of the components that leave the faithful feeling more vulnerable than empowered. Our question now becomes, how are we to love God, demonstrate the compassion of Christ while at the same time meet one anothers needs? If there are so many in the body still hurting and despondent how do we set their feet on the path to total healing if we’re still struggling with the “rules” of Christianity? While I was worshiping with family members recently the topic of Kingdom, God’s divine kingdom arose. I never used to think much about kingdom in the early days of my salvation. Like most people, I just believed if “we” could just get people to the point of repentance, God would do the rest. However, over the years as I matured in Christ I realized how I was completely missing the mark. It was never my job to “get” anyone or “convince” anyone to repent. Most believers are taught this principle that is leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of the un-churched regarding Jesus. In our ignorance, we just wind up ramming redemption down their throats! Jesus said if HE is lifted up, HE WOULD DRAW MEN! (John 12:32) No amount of melodious music, fog lamps, praise leaders or dress down Sundays can do this. I’ve always been fascinated by people who seem to have a hotline to God. What 
I mean is, they pray and things happen. For a long time, I believed they had some “special” relationship with God. I used to think that they were somehow more powerful in things spiritual with heighted discerning abilities as well. The spiritual climate among believers is pretty much at an all time high. Every 
prophetic person, ministry or book is pointing out that a tremendous move of God is about to take place. The book of revelation is more alive in our lifetime than ever before and even Hollywood is citing biblical references in movies. Our society is unraveling to the point that even the most faithful are backsliding as leaders are falling into sin.
One message that is clear is that Christ followers must keep their ear to the ground to hear what the spirit of God is speaking in terms of direction.
